The third generation of theater-makers from the brings the world-renowned AURELIA’S ORATORIO returns to the US following sold-out tours across the east and west coasts, two West End appearances and renown from Europe to Asia. A remarkable display of stage illusion created especially for and with Aurélia Thierrée, the show draws inspiration from the worlds of music hall, variety and circus to create a concoction of illusion and fantasy.
Aurélia Thierrée has performed as actress and illusionist since early childhood, initially with her parents Jean-Baptiste Thierrée and Victoria Thierrée Chaplin, pioneers of new circus in the famous Cirque Invisible and Cirque Imaginaire, and more recently with the Tiger Lilies Circus. Victoria Thierrée Chaplin continues to tour with Cirque Invisible and has also worked with her son James’ La Compagnie de Hanneton on La Veillee Des Abysses.
“Awesome….It’s been a long time since I sat through a show with my mouth literally agape." - Boston Herald
"It is a bewitching 70 minutes in which the nightmarish and the dreamy meet and disintegrate in a puff of smoke and the whistle of a train." - The Guardian

MURMURS
Starring Aurélia Thierrée
Created by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin
Featuring Jaime D. Martinez & Magnus Jacobsson
After Aurelia’s Oratorio, seven years of world tours, and still going, comes MURMURS. We all become a part of the memories of walls, sooner or later. From their construction and until their demolition, within their structure and as part of their ruins. They are silent (or not so silent) witnesses of our lives. They protect and hide us from the outside. Abandoned cities that come to life. Rooms that exhale threads of information, stories of lives that once were. A woman on the run. It’s a puzzle that slowly pieces itself together.
Set as a continuation to Aurelia’s Oratorio, Murmurs will follow a woman on the run, in an abandoned city.
Set to premiere in March 2011. North American Touring 2011-12 TBD.
