The pre-eminent visionary of South Africa ’s post-apartheid theater movement brings her unflinching vision to the Middle East , where the Israeli / Paelstinian history of familial strife and cultural territories is seen in the light of Shakespeare’s saga on the visceral, unconscious driving force in all our struggles for the soil. Farber’s first cultural investigation outside Africa follows the worldwide acclaim for her trilogy of testimonial-based works (AMAJUBA: LIKE DOVES WE RISE, WOMAN IN WAITING and HE LAY QUIETLY), offering a narrative from which we confront not only our mortality but the inevitability of our own exile via the darkest, most poignant and ambiguous of Shakespeare’s texts realized in a searing new form.

We reach deep inside where everybody finds their way to SHINE. Produced in partnership with ArKtype, Miami Light Project, and Dance Theater Workshop, SHINE brings the light back to the true mission of hip-hop and the brilliance of its emissaries.
